Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, joined the 4th module of the GrantWay training course by IR Office
On April 1, the 4th module of the training course ‘GrantWay Workshop: How to Prepare a Grant Application Successfully’ was held by the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation (IP Office) and partners. Maksym Kolisnyk, Leading Officer of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, informed about grant opportunities and tools to support the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe.
The representative of the Office provided statistics on Ukraine’s involvement in the Programme as of 31 March 2025, with a special focus on the participation of domestic SMEs. The speaker presented tools for business, including thematic multilateral and individual projects, cascade financing, and public-private partnerships. Among other things, he spoke in detail about the current calls of the Programme and the opportunities that will be opened in the near future.
Halyna Shtohryn, Head of the Grant Coordination Department, IP Office, also made a presentation on ‘SME Fund: a grant for registration of IP rights in the European Union for Ukrainian enterprises’. In addition, she informed about the initiative launched in December 2024 within the Dialogue between Government and Business Platform together with the Kyiv Regional State Administration. It is a partial reimbursement by the state of expenses related to the protection of intellectual property rights.
In total, the GrantWay course, which runs from 11 March to 8 April 2025, consists of 5 modules. Participants of the training have the opportunity to get acquainted with the key grant programmes of donors, learn how to search for grant opportunities and analyse requirements of funders, learn how to prepare application documents and formulate a budget, learn the experience of speakers on effective tools and practices for career development of researchers and entrepreneurs, and receive practical advice from leading experts in the area of project management.
It should be reminded that on the first day of the event, March 11, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine: Igor Taranov, Head of the Office, and Yuliia Reminska and Tayisiya Symochko, Leading Officers, presented the work of the Office for Ukrainian participants of Horizon Europe, grant opportunities for researcher’s career development under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Programme component, budgeting during the work on the project application.
