Information Day of the NCP Climate, Energy and Mobility dedicated to the Horizon Europe Cluster 5 was held
On April 23, an information day dedicated to the Horizon Europe Programme, in particular current calls and partnerships within Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility, was held. The event was organised by the National Contact Point for the Climate, Energy and Mobility with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. Representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part as speakers.
Igor Taranov, Head of the Department of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, opened the event with a welcoming speech. Among other things, the Head of the Office noted the active work of the National Contact Point for Climate, Energy and Mobility, which is constantly monitored by the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, the coordinator of the Horizon Europe NPC network.
Olga Kurykina, Leading Officer of HEOinUA, spoke about the financial aspects of participation in the Horizon Europe Programme. The expert elaborated on the different types of budget categories, in particular, lump sum. In addition, the speaker emphasised the importance of taking each of these categories into account when planning the budget.
The participants were also informed about:
- topic and calls under Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility within the Programme (Vladyslav Danishevskyy, Director of the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, USUST, Head of the NCP Climate, Energy and Mobility)
- key areas of research support under the Horizon Europe Programme (Oleksandr Zhadanos, Associate Professor, USUST)
- building an effective team to participate in Horizon Europe projects (Nataliia Chernova, Head of International Relations, USUST).
Finally, the participants were presented with an example of a successful story of project implementation under the Horizon Europe Programme, which was told by Professor Denys Volchok, Project Coordinator of the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture of USUCT. The Academy is a participant in two projects of the Programme focused on energy efficiency and energy saving: HORIZON-CL5-2023-D4-01-05 and HORIZON-CL5-2023-D3-03-04.
The event concluded with a Q&A session. In total, almost 100 participants joined the event both onsite and online.
