Representatives of the NRFU took part in the National Forum on the Integration of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions into the ERA
On May 13, the Bogomolets National Medical University hosted the National Forum ‘European Course of Medical Science Development: Effective Participation of Higher Education Institutions in Grant Programmes’. This is the first event dedicated to the institutional strengthening of scientific activities in the field of medicine and healthcare through the effective involvement of Ukrainian higher education institutions in international grant programmes and integration into the European research area, which was held at the university. Representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, headed by its Executive Director Olga Polotska, joined the event as speakers.
Among others, Olga Polotska delivered a welcoming speech and presented information on typical mistakes made by higher education institutions when applying for NRFU calls in the context of the panel discussion ‘Grant opportunities in the process of European integration in the healthcare sector’. In addition, Tetiana Machulina, Head of the Communications and International Cooperation Department, NRFU, made a presentation on ‘NRFU in the International Space: New Opportunities for Ukrainian Researchers’. Andrii Kuznetsov, First Deputy Executive Director for Grant Support, spoke about the general principles and approaches to the preparation of applications for grant support from the Foundation.
For their part, the specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, presented opportunities for Ukrainian scientists, researchers and innovators in the healthcare sector within the framework of the EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe. In particular, the Head of the Department, Igor Taranov, spoke about the European Research Council, and the Leading Officer of the Department, Yuliia Reminska, presented the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Also, Maksym Kolisnyk and Oleksandr Moiseiev, leading officers, informed the participants of the event about the instruments of the European Innovation Council and the Hop-on facility initiative within the WIDERA.
The event was organised by the Center for International Academic Mobility and Grant Projects at the initiative of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and with the participation of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. In total, the event was attended by about 250 participants who attended the event in person and joined online. These were representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Public Health Centre of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, administrations of medical higher education institutions, academic staff responsible for scientific and international activities, scientists, young scientists, grant managers, and all those interested in developing scientific and educational cooperation at the international level.
