Representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, took part in the information event dedicated to WIDERA
On June 3-4, the information event dedicated to the Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) component of the Horizon Europe Programme is taking place. The event is organised by the National Contact Point for the relevant area at the Western Ukrainian National University (Ternopil). Representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, joined the information day.
On the first day, June 3, Nataliia Didenko, Deputy Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, delivered a welcoming speech, congratulated the participants on new opportunities and wished them fruitful work and new achievements in the Horizon Europe Programme. Also, the participants were greeted by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of WUNU Mykola Dyvak, who in his address emphasised the importance of the university’s participation in EU grant programmes as an additional source of funding.
For his part, Maksym Kolisnyk, Leading Officer, presented a report on the success stories of Ukrainian organisations’ participation in Horizon Europe projects under the WIDERA component. The expert provided detailed information on projects in which Ukrainian organisations are consortium coordinators. Currently, 7 projects are being implemented under the WIDERA with a total funding of over EUR 3.5 million, which confirms the increased competitiveness of project applications in Ukraine.

- Introduction of the WIDERA Work Programme 2025
- grant opportunities for Ukrainian researchers in 2025.
In addition, a masterclass on how to use the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and a workshop on how to prepare a successful project proposal were held for the participants of the information day.
During the second day of the event, on June 4, potential participants of the Horizon Europe Programme will be consulted on issues related to the WIDERA. The consultations will be provided by Olga Sulema, Head of the NCP WIDERA.
