Joined Together to Build European Project Management Skills: a webinar dedicated to the Horizon Europe opportunities for the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions was held
On 3 October, a webinar dedicated to the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe and its opportunities for Ukrainian participants, particularly those from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, was held as part of the KALYNA: Joined Together to Build European Project Management Skills. The online event was organised in cooperation with Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU.
Cédric Guillon-Lavocat, Deputy Director General, Head of European and International Strategies for the Île-de-France Region and Project Manager for KALYNA in France, opened the event with a welcome speech. He presented the project and introduced its team.
Also, Véronique Hostein, Head of the Development and European Strategies for the Île-de-France Region, joined in to greet the participants. She talked about the webinar’s goal, which was to facilitate Ukraine’s European integration, specifically for the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, through participation in European funding programmes, including Horizon Europe.
The working part of the event was held by Igor Taranov, Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, NRFU. The Head of the Office presented detailed information about Horizon Europe, the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation, its budget, goals and structure. The speaker also presented statistics on the participation of Ukrainian organisations and the cooperation of Ukraine, which is associated with the Programme, with its member countries.
Moreover, the representative of the Office provided step-by-step guidance on how to use the EU Funding and Tenders Portal, as a tool for searching for calls, partners, registering applicants, etc. In addition, he gave recommendations on how to prepare and submit applications.
Besides, Igor Taranov told the audience about the structure of the Office, introduced its staff members, and invited everyone to follow the latest news on the Office’s official media resources: website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube channel.
The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the speakers, both on the functioning of the KALYNA project and on aspects of the Horizon Europe Programme.
In partnership with AFPA, Institut Paris Region and the Kyiv School of Public Administration (KSPA), the Île-de-France Region, together with the Kyiv and Chernihiv Regional Military Administrations, launched the project: “KALYNA: Joined Together to Build European Project Management Skills”. The aim of the project is to support the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions in mastering European Union financing mechanisms by creating a French-Ukrainian training programme. The three-year-long project has received support from the French Development Agency (AFD) under the Local Authority Financing Facility. Within the framework of this project, the Region is working closely with Expertise France.
