Horizon Europe office in Ukraine, NRFU continues to expand the boundaries of cooperation: a joint webinar with the National Defence Technology Centre
On October 30, the team of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, held a joint webinar with specialists of the Danish National Defence Technology Centre (NFC). The event was aimed at supporting, finding partners and establishing cooperation both between individual researchers, scientists, and organisations of those countries.
Frederik Sondergaard, Policy Officer, Horizon Europe Association, The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission opened the event with a welcome speech. Among other things, he emphasised the significant support provided by the European Union to Ukraine.
The participants were also congratulated by the Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU Igor Taranov, who presented statistics on Ukraine’s participation in the Horizon Europe Programme and cooperation with Denmark to international partners and participants of the event. For his part, the executive director of the Danish National Technology Center, Lars Bo Larsen, presented the Center’s activities in terms of dual-use and defense technologies.
During the working part, the participants were presented with information on cooperation between Denmark and Ukraine in the field of education, research activities of the Danish Center, in particular, cooperation with Ukrainian representatives. In addition, the listeners learned about the research funding system in Denmark.
At the end of the webinar, the organisers held a question and answer session. The event aroused considerable interest among participants from both sides, so the session turned out to be very productive and useful, full of many questions, suggestions for establishing connections and advice on close cooperation.
In total, more than 75 representatives of higher education institutions and scientific institutions of Ukraine and Denmark took part in the event. The number of interested participants and the resulting resonance give the organisers an understanding of the expediency of holding joint events of this direction.
