On March 10, 2026, the team of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU held its regular information event dedicated to the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme for Ukrainian researchers. This time, the target audience of the event was the members of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE).

The event was opened by Kostyantyn Kyrychenko, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the Kyiv School of Economics. He welcomed the participants, introduced the speakers from the Office, and briefly introduced the audience to the activities of the higher education institution, in particular its grant activities.

For their part, the Office’s specialists gave a general overview of the Horizon Europe Programme and the current opportunities for Ukrainian participants within the Horizon Europe open calls, its components and missions. The most important budgeting rules in Horizon Europe project proposals and specific legal issues of the Programme were also highlighted.

In addition, participants were provided with detailed information about the Programme’s key tool, the EU Funding and Tenders Portal, with step-by-step instructions on how to register an organisation on it, select calls for proposals, search for partners, etc.

The event was important for KSE employees, as the institution has considerable experience in participating in international grant programmes, but there are also newcomers who are just starting their activities in this field. Therefore, during the Q&A session, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and express their requests to the speakers.

It should be noted that KSE is currently participating in the implementation of several projects within the Horizon Europe Programme. These are SUN4Ukraine, REDEMOS, GUIDEPRWP2 and FARMAR (MSCA). We would like to make a special mention of the BRIDGE project, “Building Resilient Innovations in Democracy, Governance and Excellence”, as KSE is not just a participant but also its coordinator. As part of this initiative, KSE partners with European Universities – Berlin University of Technology (Germany), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), and the University of Tartu (Estonia) – as well as the Center for Innovations Development (CID) in Ukraine. Together, they will leverage their expertise and best practices to develop and research digital democracy innovations, strengthening the impact of KSE’s research on policy-making and effective decision-making in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.
