On April 15, an Information Day on the Euratom Research and Training Programme in Ukraine was held. The event was organised by the National Contact Point for the relevant area of activity and dedicated to opportunities for international cooperation, education and the participation of Ukrainian research teams in European research initiatives. Representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, took part in the event.

The working session included presentations on:

  • JRC activities in training and R&D within Euratom, Peter Haehner, senior expert, JRC, European Commission;
  • FuseNet: Promoting fusion education and attracting young talent in Europe, Cruz Darío Andrés, Executive director, FuseNet;
  • Euratom Work Programme 2026-2027, Sergii Pugach, National Science Center Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology, NCP on EURATOM – Fission;
  • Building Europe’s Nuclear Workforce: closing the skills gap to accelerate deployment, Kateryna Piliuhina, manager of the European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN);
  • European Nuclear Society Higher Scientific Council activities and position papers, Pylyp Kuznietsov, Head of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, European Nuclear Society.

The Euratom Information Day was held as part of the III International Scientific and Technical Conference named after V.M. Voyevodin: Problems of Modern Nuclear Energy, which lasts April 15-17, 2026, and brings together leading scientists, experts and young researchers to discuss current challenges and future prospects in the development of nuclear energy. The event served as a valuable platform for researchers, lecturers, postgraduate students and undergraduates interested in developing international cooperation, participating in European Union programmes, and expanding their professional opportunities in the field of nuclear science and technology.
