Specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU provided consultation on financial management of the Horizon Europe projects for representatives of NUBiP

Specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU provided an online consultation for representatives of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP), dedicated to the financial aspects of the preparation and implementation of Horizon Europe projects. From the requesters, the event was attended by employees of the International Projects Office and Financial and Accounting Services of the NUBiP.

During the consultation, participants discussed practical issues of budgeting for project application, features of funding management of EU grant projects, as well as preparation for potential audit after the projects realisation.

Particular attention was paid to:

• features of calculating the cost of daily and monthly rate in the budget of the project application;
• permissible mechanisms for remuneration of employees within the scope of project implementation in accordance with Ukrainian legislation;
• practical aspects of the application of lump sum and actual cost funding models;
• the issue of proper financial administration of projects for successful audit.

At the end of the meeting, the staff of the Office gave answers to additional questions that arose during the consultation.

The provision of such consultations contributes to increasing the institutional capacity of Ukrainian institutions of higher education in the preparation of competitive project applications and effective management of international grant projects.
