Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU expands the boundaries of cooperation: meeting with EUROCITIES representative
On July 16, Lesya Tymoshenko, Senior Project Coordinator – Climate and Environment, EUROCITIES ASBL, paid a working visit to Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU. The purpose of the meeting was to establish contacts and expand the boundaries of cooperation in future.
Lesya Tymoshenko currently takes part in the realisation of the projects within Horizon Europe EU Mission Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities and is responsible for coordinating one of the SUN4Ukraine projects. This project is also related to the Mission and helps to engage Ukrainian cities in the implementation of the Mission.
Starting in May 2024, the SUN4Ukraine project aims to help align the reconstruction plans of Ukrainian cities with the ambitious goals of climate neutrality, because of the approved the Environmental Security and Climate Adaptation Strategy until 2030. In addition, climate neutrality of cities is one of the reforms aimed at Ukraine’s integration into the EU.
The project with a total budget of EUR 4,999,605 includes 16 participants and an additional partner from the USA. The consortium is represented by 5 institutions from Ukraine, which will receive 21.18% of the total budget during the project realisation period (01.05.2024-30.04.2028).
