Representatives of the NRFU held an information event in Mykolayiv (Day II)
On November 13-14, representatives of the NRFU held an information event at the Mykolayiv National Agrarian University. On the second day, November 14, representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs, and all others interested in the opportunities of both the NRFU and the EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe for domestic scientists, researchers, and innovators joined the event “Grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools within the Horizon Europe Programme”.
The event was opened with welcoming speeches by Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the NRFU, Vyacheslav Shebanin, Rector of Mykolayiv National Agrarian University, and Oleh Sharov, General Director of the Directorate of Professional Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The Head of the NRFU, Ms. Polotska, also opened the first working part with general information about the National Research Foundation, its structure and activities.
The organisational support of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine calls was presented by Tetiana Berehova, Head of the Grant Support Department, NRFU, and Serhii Petrukha, Head of the Planning and Financial Department, NRFU, spoke about the financial component in preparing grant applications for NRFU calls.
For his part, Vladyslav Mykhailenko, Leading Officer of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, spoke about the Horizon Europe Programme, which is the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme. Among other things, he shared the latest statistics on the results of Ukrainian participants in the Programme. In addition, the leading officers Oleksandr Moiseiev and Nadiia Naumova presented the legal aspects and financial issues of participation in Horizon Europe.
Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, opened the second working part with a presentation on opportunities for Ukrainian scientists in the context of the European Research Council. Since the event was organised on the basis of a higher education institution of the agricultural sector, it was especially important for the participants to learn about the opportunities of Horizon Europe focused on agricultural sciences. Therefore, Nataliia Didenko, Deputy Head of the Office, provided information about open and upcoming calls in this area.
In addition, Maksym Kolisnyk, Leading Officer of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, highlighted an equally important issue for farmers – grant opportunities for business under the Programme. And Yuliia Reminska, Leading Officer of the Office, spoke about aspects of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
The event ended with an active question and answer session, during which the inquirers received professional and thorough answers to all their questions. The event was summarised by Vitalii Sokolik, Vice-Rector for Administrative, Economic and Legal Affairs of the University, and Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, who thanked the participants for their great interest in the opportunities provided to domestic scientists, researchers and innovators by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the support of the European Union under the Horizon Europe Program, which is extremely important in today’s context. Finally, there was an equally productive networking event, during which the participants had the opportunity to communicate with specialists responsible for certain areas of the Programme and establish contacts.
