Working tools for the effective work of the Horizon Europe NCPs: experts of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU held the fourth training
On February 14, 2025, the specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU held a regular training event for the network of National Contact Points of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. This is the fourth training in a series of planned events of this format held by the Office for National NCPs. This time, it is dedicated to working tools for the effective work of the HE NCPs.
Olga Polotska, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, opened the event with a welcoming speech. She stressed the importance of the network of National Contact Points, which are part of the extensive network of Horizon Europe specialists and contribute to better dissemination of knowledge about the Programme and, as follows, to greater involvement of Ukrainian researchers and innovators.
Among the topics highlighted in detail by the experts of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine were:
- current state of participation of Ukrainian organisations in Horizon Europe calls and the functioning of the Department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU;
- communication, dissemination and exploitation in the context of the Programme projects;
- legal aspects of engaging subcontractors in the Programme projects, including regulations, liability and risks;
- ethics, inclusiveness and gender equality in Horizon Europe projects;
- Toolbox for the effective work of the NCPs.
The event was also attended by a representative of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations (IP Office) – PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Innovation Development Olga Kronda, who presented the innovative development of Ukraine through the prism of the IP Office work.
In addition, Mykhailo Hrebeniuk, Office manager of GUARD – Global promotion of UA R&D: Liaison office in Brussels for UA R&D community’ joined the online training and spoke about the support and opportunities provided by his office to Ukrainian Horizon Europe applicants, as well as discussed in detail with the participants the possibilities of improving communication, interaction and, as follows, the activities of the NCPs.
Igor Taranov, Head of the Department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, summed up the results, urging the participants to actively participate in the training webinars that will continue to be conducted by the Office’s specialists, as well as to send their requests to the Department’s e-mail: horizoneurope.info@nrfu.org.ua.
