FAQ about the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine
Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, a structural unit of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, operates under the Grant Agreement between the European Union, represented by the European Commission, and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (HEOinUA Project-101132682).
At present, this is the sole instance where the activities of a national office of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme are entirely funded by the European Commission.
The primary objective of the Office is to offer information and advisory support regarding the implementation of Horizon Europe.
According to the Regulation on “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, its tasks include:
- Providing consulting services to legal entities interested in participating in EU research and innovation programmes, including guidance on participation rules and partner searches.
- Offering professional consulting services to Horizon Europe National Contact Points (NCPs), fostering the development of an active and effective network of thematic NCPs across Ukraine, ensuring NCP training through information dissemination and training activities, and supporting the management structures of the European Research Area.
- Raising awareness of Horizon Europe by organising tailored information events.
- Collecting, summarising, analysing, and disseminating information on the outcomes of Ukrainian organisations and individual project teams’ participation in the Programme.
- Supporting the information tools of the NCPs and disseminating information about their activities to relevant stakeholders.
- Organising annual seminars, conferences, trainings, and other events for the NCPs to enhance work efficiency and improve the skills of NCP network representatives.
- Organising and supporting international events to promote Horizon Europe opportunities, facilitate communication among potential and experienced Programme participants, and enable experience exchange, involving public authorities, representatives of the European Commission, and other stakeholders.
Please note that the functions of the Office do NOT include:
- participating in the writing and submission of project applications;
- reviewing applications or any related materials;
- providing recommendations on translation issues.
