As part of the Horizon Europe LUKE “Linking Ukraine to the European Research Area – Joint Funding and Capacity Building Platform for Enhanced Research and Innovation Cooperation” project, a citizen visioning workshop “Research I wish for Ukraine” is being organised to gather diverse perspectives on research and innovation topics important to Ukraine.  The primary objective of this workshop is to engage lay Ukrainians with no prior knowledge of research and innovation in shaping the thematic topics for the further joint research European-Ukrainian grant call.

The visioning workshop will take place on May 27, 2025, from 15:00 to 19:00, and Ukrainians can apply for participation here. Participants will be randomly chosen to reflect the demographic diversity in Ukraine with regards to age, gender, education, and home region. selected among is open to all Ukrainians whose activities are not related to research and innovation. By participating, the citizens will have the opportunity to raise their voices about which thematic topics might receive funding, ensuring that they align with societal needs and expectations.

The Citizen Visioning Workshop is inspired by efforts by the European Union, UNESCO, OECD, and many others, to promote public engagement in Research and Innovation processes.

Together, we can shape a brighter future for Ukraine through international collaboration in research and innovation.
