On 26 December 2025, specialists from the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine held an online consultation for representatives of the U-Food Association (Ukrainian Food Association). The meeting began with an introduction of the participants and continued with a discussion of issues of interest to them.

During the event, Bogdan Shapoval, Director of the U-Food Association, outlined the main areas of the Association’s activities, while Manager Natalia Fedchuk presented her vision for analytical support for the agri-food sector and the preparation of joint research and innovation projects.

Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine Nataliia Didenko introduced the participants to the Office’s operations and key areas of work. Information was also provided on the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme in the context of Cluster 6, ‘Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment’.

Leading Officer Vladyslav Mykhailenko presented the Programme’s grant opportunities, focusing on support for breakthrough research and innovation, as well as on the practical results of projects that contribute to positive change in society.

Specialists of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine provided explanations regarding the Programme’s instruments, conditions for participation in calls for proposals, requirements for consortia, and possible formats for involving Ukrainian organisations in Horizon Europe projects.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed the idea of organising a donor conference as a platform for attracting international grant resources, presenting current initiatives and the needs of Ukraine’s agri-food sector, and developing cooperation with European and international institutions.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and explore promising areas of cooperation.
