Accessing EU markets through innovation: joint webinar of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU and Main Business Partner, dedicated to the Horizon Europe Programme
On September 22, the team of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, together with the law company Main Business Partner, held a webinar dedicated to opportunities for Ukrainian businesses in the Horizon Europe Programme. The event was organised for representatives of Ukrainian businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises interested in accessing European Union markets through participation in EU grant programmes for research and innovation, in particular Horizon Europe.
Igor Taranov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department ‘Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine’ at the National Foundation for Democracy, opened the event with a welcoming speech. The Head of the Office welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of such events in raising awareness of grant opportunities. He also wished everyone to write successful applications for participation, noting the readiness of the Office’s specialists to cooperate during the writing process.
During the webinar, participants received general information about Horizon Europe as the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation, as presented by Vladyslav Mykhailenko, PhD in Ecology and Leading Officer at Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine. Also, Maksym Kolisnyk, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor, Leading Officer of the Department, provided information on grant opportunities and actual calls for entrepreneurship within the Programme. For her part, Nataliia Didenko, PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, presented a step-by-step algorithm for preparing and submitting applications for participation in the Programme’s calls, in particular on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.
Besides, Svitlana Stepanenko, Manager of International Projects and Partnerships Development and a representative of YouControl, also joined the event. She introduced the company’s success story in the Programme, which is currently implementing two projects within its framework. The speaker talked about the company’s way to winning calls, the difficulties the team faced along its way, and mistakes they made. She also gave some advice and motivation to everyone who wanted to join the Programme but didn’t know where to start or thought it was too hard.
The event was of great interest. At the end, representatives of domestic enterprises had the opportunity to ask speakers questions about aspects of participation in the Programme. During the Q&A session, participants were interested not only in general questions, such as the criteria for business participation, but also in questions about specific calls.
