Expanding international cooperation: The Office participated in a working meeting with representatives of Lund University
On November 7, specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in a meeting of the University Working Group on academic assistance to Ukraine at Lund University in Sweden. Igor Taranov, Head of the Office, presented to the participants of the meeting its tasks and main results of work.
In his speech, the head of the department noted that due to the russian aggression against Ukraine, domestic scientists were forced to leave their homes and move abroad. European universities and research institutions have responded and organised various programmes that allow Ukrainian scientists to continue their work. As a result, our scientists, researchers, and innovators have been given a unique opportunity to work outside of Ukraine. Moreover, many of those who find themselves abroad join their efforts to cooperate, and Lund University, among others, has become a platform for such cooperation.
After the presentation of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, the participants of the event asked questions to its representatives concerning both the activities and the current state of participation of Ukrainian organisations in the Horizon Europe Programme. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their mutual wish to maintain contacts in order to work together on Ukraine’s integration into the European research area. In addition, representatives of the university are going to visit Ukraine next year, so the parties agreed to meet in Kyiv to discuss topical issues of further cooperation.
