First steps towards participation in Horizon Europe: Information Event held for representatives of Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University
On 18 June 2026, Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU), at the request of Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University, conducted an information event entitled ‘Selected Aspects of Participation in the Horizon Europe Programme’. The event was the first comprehensive introductory webinar for university representatives on the opportunities offered by the Programme. Its objective was to provide participants with a basic understanding of Horizon Europe, available funding opportunities, and practical guidance on preparing future project proposals.
The participants were welcomed by Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the NRFU, and Anastasiia Konovalenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Strategic Development of Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University. In their opening remarks, they emphasized the importance of the university’s active engagement in international research cooperation and the use of European funding programmes to strengthen its scientific potential. Mr Taranov also introduced participants to the activities of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine and the support services it provides.
During the working session, the Office experts presented key information on the Horizon Europe Programme and its participation mechanisms. Leading Officer Liudmyla Lisova provided an overview of the Programme’s structure, its main pillars, and the opportunities available for Ukrainian organisations.
Nataliia Didenko, Deputy Head of the Office, presented practical aspects of working with the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, including organisational registration procedures, profile creation, and the search for funding opportunities. Particular attention was given to the initial steps organisations should take when preparing to participate in the Programme.
Vladyslav Mykhailenko, Leading Officer, informed participants about the current calls under the 2026-2027 Work Programme within Cluster 3 Civil Security for Society, Cluster 5 Climate, Energy and Mobility, and Cluster 6 Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment. He also highlighted the opportunities offered through the EU Missions.
The final presentation was delivered by Oleksandr Moiseiev, Leading Officer, who addressed the topic of identifying international partners for the joint preparation of project proposals. Participants learned about available partner-search tools, opportunities for building international consortia, and resources that can facilitate cooperation with European organisations.
The webinar laid the foundation for Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University’s systematic engagement with the opportunities offered by Horizon Europe. Raising awareness among academic and research staff about participation mechanisms, international partner search, and proposal preparation creates favourable conditions for strengthening the university’s international cooperation and further integration into the European Research Area.
