On May 31, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine took part in the round table Ukraine’s Participation in the Euratom Programme. Working Programme 2023-2025″, held within the annual scientific conference of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The event was dedicated to the Euratom Research and Training Programme, the experience of Ukrainian organizations in the Programme, and the development of cooperation between Ukrainian and European participants in Euratom activities.

The Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, Igor Taranov, spoke about the work of the Office since its opening, its aim, and cooperation with the target audience and stakeholders, including future National Contact Points of the Horizon Europe, which are soon to be nominated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, international projects and initiatives to support Ukrainian researchers and innovators, potential applicants of the Horizon Europe, research and higher education institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, state and local governments, etc.

In addition, Grygoriy Naumovets, Leading Officer of the Office, presented information on open calls for submission under the Euratom Programme. Details of these calls are here.

An important issue reported on by Hryhoriy Mozolevych, Director General of the Directorate for Science Development of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, was the creation of a network and nomination of National Contact Points of the Horizon Europe Programme in Ukraine and the actions taken to accelerate this extremely important process. He informed about the call for nominations, selection criteria and other aspects. The nomination of the Horizon Europe NCPs will contribute to a significant increase in public awareness of the Programme and, as a result, increase the number of successfully submitted applications from Ukrainian participants.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, industrial companies and other stakeholders in cooperation under the Euratom Programme. The event was organized by the Euratom National Contact Point, the National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine together with the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
