Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU continues to raise awareness of Ukrainian researchers and innovators about EU grant opportunities: communication events dedicated to the Horizon Europe were held in Kyiv
Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, continues to raise the awareness of Ukrainian scientists, researchers and innovators about the grant opportunities of the European Union, in particular the Framework Programme Horizon Europe. Thus, on June 29 and 30, the Office’s team held two thematic events dedicated to the opportunities of participation of Ukrainian organisations in the Programme and practical aspects of preparing successful project proposals.
On June 29, an information dissemination event “Support tools within the EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe” was held. The participants learned about the current state of Ukraine’s participation in the Programme, the activities of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, open calls’ opportunities, in particular for business, innovations in the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026-2027, as well as opportunities to participate in European Partnerships.
Particular attention was paid to the EU Funding and Tenders Portal, the usage of Artificial Intelligence tools during the preparation of project proposals, the principles of Open Science, ethical aspects and also the important issue – criteria for evaluating project applications.
And already on June 30, specialists of the Office conducted the training on practical aspects of participation in the Horizon Europe Programme/ During the event participants not only deepened their knowledge of the preparation of project proposals, but also had the opportunity to take part in practical group work. They were offered to choose HE calls in different topics for analysing its documents, formatting the structure of the project proposal and work packages, preparing Excellence and Impact sections.
In addition, the issue of project budgeting in accordance with novelties and changes in the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026-2027 was considered in detail. While working in groups, future potential applicants tried to calculate the project budget.
The participants presented the results of the group work and lively discussed questions that arose during the process of preparing for participation in the HE calls in practice. In addition, the Q&A sessions held at the end of both events seemed also as rich and active as the working parts.
The events were attended by representatives of higher education institutions, academic institutions, business, state and local government bodies, public organisations and, in general, everyone who is interested in the Framework Programme. The events held by the Office are useful not only in terms of obtaining new quality knowledge, practical skills and experience, but also establishing new professional contacts that will be useful during the preparation for Horizon Europe calls project proposals.
