On May 19-23, Kyiv National University of Technology and Design is hosting the Science Week 2025. On May 20, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, held an information session for KNUTD staff dedicated to the activities of the Office and the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe, as a part of the activities dedicated to this event.

The event was opened by the rector of KNUTD, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Ivan Gryshchenko. He greeted the participants, spoke about the university, focusing on its scientific and innovative activities and achievements.

Olga Kurykina, PhD in Economics, Leading Officer of the HEOinUA, began the working part with a presentation on the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme Horizon Europe. For his part, Igor Taranov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, presented the work of the Office, which is a project of the European Commission, operating on the basis of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and has been successfully implemented for more than a year and a half. In addition, Nataliia Didenko, PhD in Agriculture, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of the Department, informed the scientific and research community of the higher education institution about the opportunities, information support and calls for proposals of the Programme in 2025.

Besides, the vice-rectors and heads of faculties and laboratories made an introductory presentation of the research infrastructure of the university’s ecosystem, in particular, the educational and research laboratories of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies and the Faculty of Design, for the participants of the event and the specialists of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine.

In general, during the Science Week 2025, the university hosts thematic meetings with scientists, master classes, seminars, a hackathon, open lectures, and a scientific quest, during which participants can exchange innovative and project initiatives, ideas, and experiences.
