Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU joined the scientific and practical conference of NCP European Innovative Ecosystems in Ukraine
On December 11, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in an event organised by the National Contact Point on the Horizon Europe European Innovation Council and European Innovation Ecosystems. The scientific and practical conference aimed to gather researchers, civil servants, representatives of state scientific institutions and private innovative companies. Within the framework of three sessions, the participants assessed the potential of interaction between science and business, discussed ways to overcome the challenges facing the scientific community, and considered practical cases of business participation in strengthening the innovative component of the national economy.
Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine’s Leading Officer Maksym Kolisnyk presented the tools of the Horizon Europe Programme for the development of innovative ecosystems. In particular, the specialist spoke about the innovations of the approved Work Programme 2026-2027 under the European Innovation Council regarding pilot calls of advanced innovation challenges, increasing the amount of grants for the EIC Pathfinder call to 4 million euros per project, expanding business acceleration services, improving the procedure for evaluating project applications using the Accelerator tool and others. The speaker also informed about the results of Ukraine’s participation in calls under the Pillar III «Innovative Europe», focusing on the synergy and complementarity of the tools of the European Innovation Council, European Innovative Ecosystems and the European Institute of Innovation and Technologies.
In addition, the speakers of the conference presented a number of developments regarding the interaction of regional and national innovation ecosystems, mechanisms of investment and innovation support for the economic development of the region, improvement of regional investment programmes, implementation of European Cohesion Policy tools in Ukraine, etc.
Special interest was aroused by the speech of the representative of LLC «Karbomainer-Ukraine», which with funding of 1.4 million euros from EIC Accelerator is the largest project of the Horizon Europe Programme in the business sector in Ukraine. The project is aimed at the production of installations that capture carbon gas from the air in industrial and urbanised zones, is a practical case study and a model of the development of innovative ecosystems.
The rich sessions of the scientific and practical conference ended with a discussion of the prospects for participation in the Horizon Europe calls and online broadcast of the information day of the pilot European Startup and Scaleup Hubs call.
