Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in the regular meeting of the Focus Group on EU-Ukraine Business Cooperation

On January 19, 2026, another online meeting of the Focus Group on EU-Ukraine business cooperation took place. Igor Taranov, Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, NRFU, presented opportunities for Ukrainian and European entrepreneurship within the EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe.

The Head of the Office presented calls by clusters and components of the Programme which are open for submission and  those that will be opened in 2026, available to SMEs.

Among the representatives of the European Commission – Martine Diss, a Senior Expert of the DG GROW, who opened the event with a welcome speech and summarised the speeches of the participants.

For his part, Janis Aizsalnieks, Head of the Service of Ukraine Group, DG ENEST, provided updated information on the process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. And Oleksandra Sukhodolska, DG GROW, reported on the results of the «Second EU-Ukraine Investment Fair on Ukraine Reconstruction».

In addition, the participants were presented with a study on the support and potential of Ukrainian companies in the regions bordering the EU. Vira Savchenko, Co-chairman of the Committee of the Association for the Restoration of Ukraine at the Business Development Office, told about this.

We should say that Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU is a permanent participant in Focus Group meetings. This is extremely important for Ukraine, because the European Union’s support for Ukrainian researchers and innovators, SMEs, who continue to work during the ongoing war in the country and contribute to Ukraine’s integration into the European research space, is invaluable in today’s conditions.
