Two-day information dissemination event: Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025 and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine Grants – New Opportunities for Ukrainian Scientists and Innovators, held in Rivne.

On the second day, June 27, scientists, researchers, innovators, representatives of higher education institutions, scientific institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, government authorities, and public organisations, as well as anyone interested in both state financial support and EU grant programmes, learned about specific aspects and components of the Horizon Europe Programme, in particular, the actual calls announced under the Work Programme 2025.

Thus, the opportunities offered by Horizon Europe in the following areas were discussed in detail:

✓ Cluster 1: Health and the EU Mission on Cancer

✓ Research Infrastructures

✓ Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space and the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities EU Mission

✓ Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility and the Water Resources Restoration and Adaptation to Climate Change EU Mission

✓ in the field of ecology and environmental protection, such as Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility and the EU Missions: Restoring Waters and Adaptation for Climate Change

✓ WIDERA.

Besides, detailed information on financial aspects of participation in the Horizon Europe Programme was provided, including types of funding, budget calculation, project reporting, etc.

Among the issues dedicated to participation in calls by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, financial competence and the preparation of the financial and economic part of grant applications and estimates within the framework of NRFU calls were presented.

Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, summarised the two-day event. He thanked the participants for their great interest to the event, which they showed by attending in person and joining online, as well as for their extraordinary activity during the Q&A sessions. The head of the Office encouraged domestic scientists and researchers to take an active part in calls by the National Research Foundation and the EU’s Horizon Europe Programme. Igor Taranov also emphasised the importance of participating in information dissemination events dedicated to grant programmes, which the NRFU team, and in particular Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, constantly organises in different regions of the country with the aim of raising awareness and thereby facilitating the preparation of successful applications for grants.
