On February 18-20, the employees of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine are holding an event to disseminate information on grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools under the Horizon Europe Programme. This time, the NRFU’s experts visited Vinnytsia.

On the first day, February 18, the delegation of the NRFU had a working meeting with representatives of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, in particular, with Tetiana Kamenshchuk, Head of the Education and Science Division of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration. The parties exchanged views and discussed the possibilities of further cooperation.

On the second day, February 19, representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, state and local authorities, NGOs and all those interested in opportunities for domestic scientists, researchers and innovators provided by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe were invited to participate in the event. In total, more than 200 participants joined both online and in person.

Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine opened the event with a welcome speech. The participants were also greeted by Tetiana Kamenshchuk, Head of the Education and Science Division of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, and a special guest, EU representative, Policy Officer at the Operations Section II of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Yehor Pyvovarov.

On that day, the programme was very informative. The participants of the event had the opportunity to get acquainted with the structure and work of the NRFU, learn about the role of the Ukrainian scientific community in ensuring the activities of the Fund, and consider in detail the organisational aspects, as well as certain legal aspects of the call selection and grant support of the NRFU.

In addition, the specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU presented the EU flagship research and innovation Programme Horizon Europe, spoke about the legal aspects of participation in it, and thoroughly covered grant opportunities for domestic business under the Programme in general, opportunities for Ukrainian scientists under the European Research Council Programme component and the Cluster 1: Health of the Pillar II: Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness.

It is important to note that the Office’s experts not only provide theoretical knowledge about the Horizon Europe Programme, but also show in practice how to work with the tools for finding calls, partners, etc. Therefore, a masterclass on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal was held for the participants.

At the end of the event, the Q&A session was held, during which participants asked all their questions and received comprehensive answers, as well as communicated with experts in person during networking. The results were summed up by Andrii Kuznetsov, First Deputy Executive Director of the NRFU for Grant Support, who encouraged people to write grant applications and successfully participate in calls for proposals.
