Information event dedicated to grant opportunities and support tools of the Horizon Europe Programme was held in Pereiaslav
On April 16, the Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav hosted an information event “Grant opportunities and support tools of the Horizon Europe Programme” with a focus on the New European Bauhaus. The event was organised and held by the university in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the Kyiv Regional State Administration according to the NCP Training Dissemination Plan of the National Contact Point New European Initiative Bauhaus. The experts of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine were the speakers at the event.
The event was opened with welcoming speeches by Vitalii Kotsur, Rector of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda University of Pereiaslav, Frederik Sondergaard, Frederik Sondergaard, Policy Officer, 03 – International cooperation – Europe and Americas, Shaping Europe’s Horizon, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission, Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, and Yehor Pyvovarov, Policy Officer (Research and Innovation), EU Delegation to Ukraine, who visited Pereiaslav with a working visit.
Also, welcoming letters were sent by Denys Kurbatov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Zhanna Osypenko, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. They wished the event a successful outcome, aimed at raising awareness of Ukrainian scientists, researchers and innovators about the opportunities of the Horizon Europe Programme and further increasing the number of Ukrainian participants with successful applications.

- Work Specifics of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine (Igor Taranov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU)
- Horizon Europe – the EU Flagship Programme for Research and Innovation (Vladyslav Mykhailenko, PhD in Ecology, HEOinUA Leading Officer)
- Legal Aspects of Participation in the Horizon Europe Programme (Yuliia Reminska, PhD in Law, HEOinUA Leading Officer)
- Financial Issues of Participation in the Horizon Europe Programme (Olga Kurykina, PhD in Economics, HEOinUA Leading Officer)
- Grant Opportunities for Business (Maksym Kolisnyk, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor, HEOinUA Leading Officer)
- Ethics, Inclusivity, and Gender Equality in Horizon Europe Projects (Nadiia Naumova, PhD in Law, HEOinUA Leading Officer).
Among other things, Oleh Bondarenko, Deputy Head of the National Ecological Centre of Ukraine, spoke about the NECU’s experience in the successful implementation of Horizon Europe environmental projects aimed at sustainable development, environmental protection and innovation, namely: SPARCS, CitiObs, More4Nature, Toural and SUNDANSE.
The New European Bauhaus was presented as a separate topic. Lorenzo de Simone, Policy officer – New European Bauhaus, JRC.B.4, European Commission, informed about the current state of play. For her part, Olesia Skliarenko, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, presented the activities of the Ukrainian National Contact Point in this area.
We remind you that this is the second event held at Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, dedicated to the 9th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe and organised for representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions, NGOs, local governments, small and medium-sized enterprises and other potential participants in the Grant Programme. The first one was held in December 2024. Almost 500 people participated virtually and on-site.
