On March 13, the State University ‘Kyiv Aviation Institute’ (KAI) held an information event: Grant opportunities and support instruments under the Horizon Europe Programme’. The event was organised and held in cooperation with Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, and its experts joined the event as speakers. The event was moderated by a representative of the University – Petro Savchuk, Technical Sciences Doctor, Professor.

Sergiy Hnatiuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research and Technology Transfer of the State University ‘Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’, and Igor Taranov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, welcomed the participants. They emphasised the importance of holding events of this format, as participation in them increases public awareness of the Horizon Europe Programme and thus raises the number of potential Ukrainian participants.

Vladyslav Mykhailenko, PhD in Ecology, Leading Officer, started the working part by presenting general information about Horizon Europe as the European Union’s flagship research and innovation programme. For their part, the Office’s specialists, PhD in Law Yuliia Reminska and PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor Maksym Kolisnyk, informed the participants about the key documents to strengthen the project application and current calls under the Programme. In addition, Nataliia Didenko, PhD in Agriculture, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, showed in detail how to work with the EU tool for finding calls, partners, etc – Funding & Tenders Portal.

At the end of the event, the participants had the opportunity to ask the speakers their questions about the aspects of participation in the Programme directly during the Q&A session. Overall, more than 150 people attended the event, which was organised for representatives of higher education institutions, including the Kyiv Aviation Institute, research institutions, small and medium-sized businesses, NGOs and others, who came in person and joined online.
