NRFU grant opportunities and Horizon Europe support tools: information dissemination event held in Poltava (Day 1)
On April 28-29, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine team held an information dissemination event ‘Grant opportunities from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools within the Horizon Europe Programme’ in Poltava.
The two-day event brought together representatives from higher education institutions, research organisations, small and medium-sized enterprises, public authorities and local government bodies, non-governmental organisations, and everyone interested in grant opportunities from the state and the European Union.
On the first day, April 28, welcome speeches were delivered by Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine; Iryna Salohub, Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration; and Ehor Pyvovarov, an expert on policy issues in the field of science and innovation at the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
During the working session, participants received information about the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, its structure, activities and strategy on open science. In addition, detailed information was provided on NRFU grants, in particular regarding the organisational support provided from the submission of applications to the reporting on projects.
At the same time, participants were informed about EU funding opportunities. Experts of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, presented the EU’s 9th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe, and the opportunities it offers to Ukrainian researchers and businesses. Among other things, new calls under Cluster 3 Civil Security for Society in 2026 and the legal aspects of participating in the Programme were discussed. The activities of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine as a European Commission’s project were presented separately.
In addition to the theoretical part, a workshop on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal was held for participants; this is a key tool for searching for calls for proposals, selecting partners to build consortia, etc.
During the Q&A session, participants had the opportunity to ask all their questions directly to the speakers and receive professional and detailed answers and explanations. In total, over 400 participants attended the event in person and joined online.
