On June 5, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) hosted a training session: Competitive opportunities of the Horizon Europe Programme (Cluster 2) for Ukrainian organisations: from idea to implementation. The event, dedicated to the key funding priorities in the areas of cultural heritage, social and economic transformation and democratic innovation, was organised by the NCP Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society with the information support and participation of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU.

At the opening of the training session, Oleksandr Labenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Affairs, NUBiP, delivered a welcoming speech. The Vice-Rector greeted the participants and invited speakers, emphasising the university’s continued commitment to expanding and deepening international cooperation in the area of science and innovation.

Iryna Horokholinska, Head of the NCP in the relevant area, made a presentation on the main calls under the Programme for 2025. The speaker highlighted the priority opportunities in the areas of cultural heritage, creative industries and social and economic transformations, and stressed the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and establishing effective relationships with European partners.

For her part, Yuliia Reminska, Leading Officer of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, informed the participants about democratic innovations and sustainable practices of public governance. She provided the key aspects of the content of the calls in the outlined thematic area and shared examples of the successful participation of Ukrainian organisations in relevant projects funded under previously announced Horizon Europe calls.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which participants discussed ways to participate in projects, partner search tools, and future networking opportunities.

The training was attended by researchers, young scientists and representatives of institutions interested in EU grant opportunities, in particular the Horizon Europe Programme. The event was aimed at raising awareness of the thematic priorities of Cluster 2 and providing practical guidance to Ukrainian institutions intending to participate in EU-funded joint research projects.
