Participation of specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU in events organised by the Horizon Europe NCPs
Employees of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU actively take part and support events organised by the National Contact Points of the Horizon Europe Programme for potential applicants.
Thus, on December 2, an informational event dedicated to EIT opportunities for Ukrainian participants of the Programme was held. The event was organised by the NCP European Institute of Innovation and Technologies and held on the basis of the Kharkiv Automobile and Road University, where the specified National Contact Point operates.
Igor Taranov, Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, NRFU, gave a welcome speech in which he noted the increase in Ukrainian participants in the Horizon Europe Programme compared to the previous Programme Horizon 2020. In addition, he emphasised the importance of synergy in the work of the Office, NCP and EIT Community Hub in Ukraine for comprehensive coverage of all those willing to join the Programme component “European Institute of Innovation and Technology” and deepening the knowledge of potential applicants. Separately, Igor Taranov noted the activities of Vitalina Babenko, Head of the NCP EIT, who is extremely active in her work.
During the event, the participants learned about:
- modern European innovation ecosystems;
- opportunities for universities, business and research groups;
- Ukraine’s participation in EIT programmes and new areas of cooperation;
- support tools, international partnerships and open calls.
Among the speakers were Vitalina Babenko, Head of NCP EIT, Ihor Markevich, Head of EIT Community Hub in Ukraine, as well as Iryna Savitska, who is the Head of Bank of Memories – winner of the Red Kalyna EIT call.
Also, on the same day, another event was held with the participation of representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine: “Grantwriting School: preparation of project proposals for participation in the calls of the Horizon Europe Programme”. We remind you that this is the fourth in a series of events of this format organised by the NCP Climate, energy and mobility under the leadership of Vladyslav Danishevskyi.
The Leading Officer Olga Kurykina presented information on the financial aspects of the preparation of the project proposal. In particular, the specialist highlighted such topics as budget planning including practical advice and common mistakes. Among other things, she focused on the peculiarities of the Lump Sum funding.

- structure of the project proposal;
- communication as the key to success in project management;
- the success story of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology in the Horizon Europe Programme.
