Representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine took part in an information event dedicated to opportunities within the Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility
An Information Day: The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. Current calls and partnerships in project proposals in the area of Climate, Energy and Mobility – was held on October 17. The event was held at the Prydniprovia State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology, Dnipro city. Representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine joined the event as leading speakers.
Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the NRFU, delivered a welcoming speech. Opening the event, she congratulated the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology on winning the selection of the Ministry of Education and Science and establishing a National Contact Point in the area of Climate, Energy and Mobility. Olga Polotska noted that events of this format contribute to a better understanding of building an effective work of NCPs under the coordination of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine. In addition, she emphasised that Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine fully supports a series of training events of the NCP network and assists in the activities of contact points.
For his part, Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, also welcomed the participants. The head of the department presented the Ukrainian Office as a successful project of the Programme, which is being implemented on the basis of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. Igor Taranov also noted that the project has been actively implemented and has been successfully fulfilling all the tasks specified in the Grant Agreement for exactly one year.
Among the speakers are representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology: Vladyslav Danishevskyi, Oleksandr Zhadanos, Maryna Babenko, Natalia Chernova, Tetiana Serdiuk. Also, Jan Behrens, project manager at the University of Twente (Enschede, the Netherlands).
The following issues were discussed during the event:
- the mission and functions of the Horizon Europe NPC network
- opportunities for Ukrainian scientists within the Programme
- current calls under Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility
- information on finding partners, preparing, submitting and evaluating applications for participation in the calls
- ETUT project under the Horizon Europe (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) and other successful practical cases of the Programme.
At the end of the information day, a Q&A session and networking were held for the participants, during which everyone could talk to the Horizon Europe experts, and ask questions about participation in the Programme.
The joint event of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology and the National Contact Point for Climate, Energy and Mobility was organised for representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, state and local governments, and NGOs who attended the event in person or joined online.
