Representatives of the NRFU took part in a round table dedicated to the possibilities of the EU Programme Erasmus+ for Ukraine
On December 10, a Round Table “European Union Programme Erasmus+: current opportunities for Ukrainian participants” was held, organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine as part of the Information Weeks of the EU Programme Erasmus+ in the areas of education, professional training, youth and sports. Representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine took part as speakers.
During the opening of the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko presented national priorities in 2026, some of which are implemented thanks to participation in EU grant programmes such as Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe. Among them: European integration of Ukraine, harmonisation of educational statistics with the EU, open science in universities, higher education for post-war recovery, individualisation of education, reform of pedagogical education and others.
Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine Olga Polotska and Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, NRFU Igor Taranov presented the results of Ukraine’s participation in the Horizon Europe Programme. Representatives of the Foundation highlighted the current state of participation of Ukrainian organisations in the Horizon Europe Programme, citing comparative data with the previous – Horizon 2020, prospects, and also informed about the work of NRFU and the Office as its structural unit in this direction.
For her part, Svitlana Shytikova, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, spoke about the peculiarities of the 2026 Erasmus+ Programme calls for higher education institutions of Ukraine. She provided clarifications on new requirements, priorities and application procedures, as well as recommendations for strengthening project proposals and partnerships.
The participants of the event discussed Ukraine’s further steps towards the acquisition of associated participation in the EU Programme Erasmus+, the implementation of international technical assistance projects, the beneficiary of which is the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the peculiarities of the participation of certain categories of students and employees of higher education institutions in the activities of the Erasmus+ Programme, opportunities for international cooperation and much more.
The round table became a kind of discussion and communication platform for discussing national priorities and features of the participation of domestic higher education institutions in the Erasmus+ Programme of the year ahead. The event brought together more than 100 participants who attended the event in person and joined online.
