Specialists of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU provided regular online consultations to the Perechyn Timber and Chemical Plant
On February 4, experts of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU conducted the second online consultation for representatives of the Perechyn Timber and Chemical Plant. The company successfully applied for the Horizon Europe call: Quartz Enrichment Enabling Near-Zero Silicon Production. The consultation was held with the involvement of Karyna Shakhbazian, representative of the National Contact Point in the area of Legal and Financial Aspects.
Today, as part of a consortium, representatives of the plant are implementing their project as part of the call. The project aims to combine extraction with the use of waste materials and refinement processes to enhance environmental sustainability. In the course of implementing the terms of the Grant Agreement, the applicants had many questions on financial issues. These included: calculation of salaries for project participants, calculation and payment of employee travel expenses, as well as the possibility of engaging subcontractors and the terms of payment for their work; certain aspects of co-financing and project financing; calculation of indirect cost and what exactly is included in the category of direct cost; audit and financial statements.
This was the first experience of joint consulting with representatives of the NCP, which, according to Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, made it possible to build the most effective model of consultation. Therefore, the experts of the Office and the NCP gave thorough answers to all questions that fully satisfied the needs of the inquirers. In the future, this information will help them to manage the project competently.
We remind you that on October 14, 2024, the experts first provided consultations to Nataliia Korol, a representative of the Perechyn Timber and Chemical Plant. At that time, the company was interested in participating in the Horizon Europe Programme and its employees had a number of questions on financial and organisational issues. It is worth noting that the consultations received from the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine experts contributed to the successful writing and submission of the application by the plant to participate in the call.
