On October 10, 2024, the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” hosted an information event “Integration of Ukraine into European Research Initiatives: National Contact Point and University Research Infrastructure as an Opening New Opportunities within the Horizon Europe Programme”. At the beginning of the meeting, the Rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Viktor Greshta and the Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Olga Polotska addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Thus, Viktor Greshta emphasized the important role of the university in developing the scientific potential of the region and expressed interest in participating in various grant programs, in particular in the Horizon Europe Programme. In his presentation, Victor Greshta informed the audience about the university’s innovative developments and achievements, powerful research infrastructure and opportunities for students, researchers and potential partners. Welcoming the participants, Olga Polotska noted that this event was the first information event of the NCP, which has recently started its work. It was also stressed that such meetings and consultations are necessary to develop the network and thus strengthen the participation of Ukrainian participants in the Horizon Europe Programme.

Igor Taranov and Nadiia Naumova, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, presented the latest information about the Programme and the prospects for the participation of Ukrainian participants in the calls under the Research Infrastructures component.

Dmytro Pavlenko, Head of the National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures, and the specialists of the NCP presented the plans of the National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures, its main tasks and expected results.

More information on the development of innovative projects of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic was provided by Andrii Ivanchenko, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.

The event was organized by the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic”, on the basis of which the NCP operates, and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
