The team of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine introduces the academic and research communities in the Odesa region to government grant opportunities and European Union’s support instruments (Day II)
On July 9-10, the team of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine held a two-day information dissemination event “Grant Opportunities from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and Support Instruments under the Horizon Europe Programme” in Odesa. The second day of the event was filled with useful information on specific aspects of participating in calls, both from the state and under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
The event began with an overview of the legal aspects of the competitive selection process and the provision of grant support by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. The financial and economic sections of the grant application and the project cost estimates from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine were also presented.
In addition, participants were introduced to the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme within the Cluster 4 Digital, Industry and Space, Cluster 5 Climate, Energy and Mobility, as well as the EU Missions Climate Change Adaptation, Restore Waters and Ocean and Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities.
Financial and legal issues relating to participation in the EU Framework Programme were highlighted separately. It is precisely these aspects that always raise the most questions among potential applicants, and staff of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, provide expert advice.
The working part of the second day of the information event also concluded with a Q&A Session. Participants asked many questions, some of which they had prepared in advance, while others arose during the speakers’ presentations. In addition, those attending the event had the opportunity to speak with experts from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine during the network.
The event was attended by representatives of higher education institutions, research organisations, small and medium-sized enterprises, state and local government bodies, and civil society organisations from both the Odesa region and the wider Southern region, as well as other regions of Ukraine – anyone interested in grant opportunities for academics, researchers and innovators. It should be noted that the event took place with the support and full assistance of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
We also should note that, due to the large number of requests for information, experts from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine held the event of this format in Odesa for the second time. The NRFU’s team made its first visit to Odesa on September 3-5, 2024.
