Training and information event about the grant opportunities of the NRFU and support under the EU Horizon Europe was held in Dnipro
On September 25, NRFU specialists visited the city of Dnipro, where they held a training and information event “Grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools within Horizon Europe” at the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
The opening ceremony began with welcoming speeches by Olga Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, and Viktor Gasso, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
For his part, Serhii Okovytyi, Rector of Oles Honchar Dnipro State University and Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Dnipropetrovsk Region, thanked the representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine who hold such information events in different parts of Ukraine to spread knowledge about opportunities for domestic scientists, researchers and innovators and thus promote the development of science and research both in the country and strengthen Ukraine’s position in the international area.
The working part was started by Vladyslav Mykhailenko, Leading Officer, HEOinUA, NRFU, who recently joined the team. He provided general information about the EU’s flagship research and innovation Programme Horizon Europe. The Office’s Leading Officers, Taisiia Symochko and Oleksandr Moiseev, highlighted the financial and legal aspects of participation in the Programme.
The topic of Horizon Europe Missions and New European Bauhaus and information about these fairly new areas were presented in detail by Nadia Naumova, Leading Officer, HEOinUA, NRFU.
It has already become a tradition during information events not only to provide theoretical knowledge, but also to teach in practice how to use the tools of the European Commission to participate in the Programme calls. Therefore, the master class on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal was conducted by Natalia Didenko, Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU.
The second part of the event was opened by Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, who presented opportunities for Ukrainian scientists within the European Research Council as a component of the Programme. Leading Officer Yulia Reminska provided information about another Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
Other important topics of great interest to domestic researchers and innovators include the opportunities for financial support from Horizon Europe for business, which were presented by Leading Officer Maksym Kolisnyk.
In addition, Tetiana Berehova, Head of the Foundation’s Grant Support Department, NRFU spoke about grant opportunities provided to domestic scientists and researchers by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, including organizational support for calls.
Finally, a question-and-answer session and networking took place, during which participants had the opportunity to ask all their questions and talk to speakers directly responsible for a particular area.
The event was attended by representatives of higher education institutions, research institutions, small and medium-sized businesses, state and local governments, NGOs, and everyone interested in opportunities from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. In total, more than 130 people attended the event on-site and online.
