Workshop “Internationalisation and Educational Reforms: Path to European Integration” was held
On March 28, the workshop “Internationalisation and Educational Reforms: Path to European Integration” took place as part of the EU Erasmus+ project “Eurydice Network in Ukraine: Access and Cooperation” (ENUAC). The event was focused on discussing current issues related to the European integration of Ukrainian education, sharing experiences, expanding opportunities with partnerships, and developing joint initiatives for the further advancement of the education sector.
The event was organised by the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Educational Analytics” together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Representatives of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine joined the event as speakers.
During the working panel on the topic of the EU grant support for the development of educational and research infrastructure in Ukraine, Andrii Kuznetsov, First Deputy Executive Director for Grant Support, NRFU, informed the participants about international cooperation as a factor in the institutional development of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. For her part, Nataliia Didenko, Deputy Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU, presented the results of the Office’s work over the year and a half of its activities on the basis of the NRFU, focused on the prospects for work and challenges faced by the specialists of the HEOinUA as a Horizon Europe Framework Programme Project.
The workshop also covered other topics related to the European integration of Ukrainian education. Among them: European integration of Ukraine through the prism of state policies, where representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine – Oleksandra Husak, Director General of the Directorate for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Serhii Shkabko, Head of the Expert Group, Directorate for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, made a presentation on the specifics of the negotiation process on Ukraine’s accession to the EU in terms of education, science and innovation.
Moreover, the participants were presented the reports on the implementation of the projects ‘Eurydice Network in Ukraine: Access and Cooperation’ (ENUAC) project within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ programme and “Skill Partnerships for Sustainable and Just Migration Patterns” (SKILLS4JUSTICE) under the Horizon Europe; the Erasmus+ programme as a tool for European integration; EUROPASS, Euroguidance, EQF national centres; and the National eTwinning office in Ukraine. In addition, the role of the public sector, in particular the NGO “Ukrainian Association of Teachers and Researchers of European Integration”, in European integration processes was separately reviewed.
Also, among the speakers at the event were representatives of the European Union: Marko Skral, Head of the Expert Group on Inclusive Development and Social and Humanitarian Issues of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Peter Birch, Head of A6 Sector “Platforms, Research and Analysis” of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency. The workshop was moderated by Andrii Lytvynchuk, Director of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”, Head of the Eurydice National Unit in Ukraine, who opened the event with a welcoming speech.

Eurydice Network was established in 1980 by the European Commission and its member states to support cooperation in the field of education in Europe. The main goal of the Network is to provide a detailed understanding of the organization of education systems in Europe and their functioning. With the accession of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia in January 2024, the Network has expanded and now comprises 43 units. The State Scientific Institution “Institute of Educational Analytics” (SSI “IEA”) is the official national unit of the Eurydice Network in Ukraine.
