COST in a Nutshell: Networking and Career Opportunities (What Researchers in Austria Need to Know)
On March 3, 2026, an information session COST in a Nutshell: Networking and Career Opportunities (What Researchers in Austria Need to Know) will be held. The event is dedicated to opportunities within the COST Initiative.
This online information session offers a general overview of the COST Programme (cooperation in science and technology) and is aimed at researchers and experts at all career stages in Austria. It also outlines the key features of COST Actions, participation opportunities, and practical insights from an experienced participant.
The session will highlight the key features of COST Actions as international research and innovation networks, explain how they differ from other common funding and programme formats, and outline the various opportunities for participation – including ways to join ongoing COST Actions.
Participants will gain insights into the structure of COST Actions, the different roles and leadership positions within an Action, eligibility criteria, and important aspects to consider when preparing a COST Action proposal. In addition, a participant in a COST Action will share first-hand experiences and practical insights from her involvement in the programme.
