Opportunities for Ukraine by JRC: the training on safe and sustainable by design will be held
We would like to inform you that the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) organises “Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) Training for Associated Countries”. The event will take place in Ispra, Italy, from 16 to 18 September 2026.
The training aims to strengthen innovation towards the development of safe and sustainable chemicals and materials throughout their life cycles, in line with the European SSbD framework developed by the JRC.
The programme will include expert presentations, interactive sessions, and discussions on specific SSbD topics and case studies. Participants will gain fundamental insights into SSbD concepts, learn directly from experts in the field, exchange knowledge and experiences, and become part of the growing SSbD community.
The deadline for applications is 12 June 2026.
The training is open to participants from the following Associated Countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Tunisia, Türkiye and Ukraine.
Participants should have:
- an interest in the implementation of the SSbD framework
- a technical-scientific background in one of the following areas: Research and Innovation (R&I), hazard assessment (human health and/or environment), exposure assessment, safety assessment, environmental sustainability assessment (Life Cycle Assessment), socio-economic sustainability assessment.
Please, note that participation is free of charge, and travel, accommodation, and daily allowances will be reimbursed by the JRC according to applicable rules.
