Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine NRFU is an integral part of European cooperation and partnership: MSCA Conference 2024
On April 18-19, the annual MSCA Conference 2024 was held in Mons, Belgium. The event was attended by a representative of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, which is always open and committed to new cooperation and partnerships to promote career opportunities for Ukrainian researchers and innovators, as well as their skills and interdisciplinary potential.
Leading Specialist of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, Yulia Reminska delivered a powerful message. She appealed to the conference participants and the European community to support Ukraine and Ukrainian researchers who continue their work in the extremely difficult conditions of the war, which has been going on in the country for three years.
The speaker emphasized that the MSCA is about the personal and professional development of a researcher, in particular his or her skills, and, accordingly, about the future of a researcher, full of new knowledge, discoveries and advanced research. Since russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, about 80 Ukrainian scientists have been tragically killed and nearly 5,000 others have been forced to flee their homeland.
The representative of the Office emphasized that the losses suffered by scientists go far beyond simple numbers. This is a profound loss of intellectual capital and potential achievements that could have a significant impact not only on Ukraine but also on the global scientific community.
The Conference was organized by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 with the support of the European Commission.
