Cooperation with local communities: Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU provided consultation to the Irpin City Council
On February 13, 2026, representatives of the Irpin City Council paid Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU a working visit. In particular, Olha Kharchenko, Head of the International Department, the Irpin City Council, appealed for help regarding the possibility of local self-government bodies participation in the EU grant programmes, including Horizon Europe, to get additional funding for local communities.
Specialists of the Office presented the EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe: calls open for submission and forthcoming ones under the Cluster 3 “Civil security for society”, Cluster 4 “Digital, industry and space”, Cluster 5 “Climate, energy and mobility” and others, which could be of interest to the government organisation.
Special attention was paid to the EU Mission “Climate-neutral and smart cities”, which is aimed at strengthening energy efficiency and implementing the latest approaches to building and providing engineering communications. Separately they discussed the New European Bauhaus Initiative, one of its aims is to provide practical assistance to local communities participating in the reconstruction and restoration of Ukraine.
According to the results of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation, participation in information events, conducting trainings for community representatives, as well as, if necessary, – additional consultations.
🖇️ It should be noted that the purpose of FP HE is at finding innovative solutions to overcome current challenges of our time in general, such as green and digital transitions, the development of a more democratic, inclusive and sustainable society, and others. The programme offers grant funding on an irreversible basis to increase the sustainability, reconstruction and sustainable development of territorial communities of Ukraine through the introduction of innovative technologies, products and solutions.
