Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU participates for the second year in the events organised by the EIT Community RIS Hub on the basis of the EIT Jumpstarter programme and dedicated to the restoration of Ukraine – Rebuild Ukraine Workshops. The ongoing close collaboration and synergy of all stakeholders facilitates the effective reconstruction of Ukraine, stimulates the development and increases the competitiveness of domestic entrepreneurs on the European stage.

On 15 March, the next workshop in the EIT Rebuild Ukraine pre-Jumpstarter Workshops series was held. This is the first of a series of workshops in 2025 on the topic of Ukraine’s rebuilding and domestic business development. Among the speakers of the first day was Igor Taranov, Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.

The Head of the Office presented the opportunities for European funding for startups to the participants. In particular, Mr Taranov informed how Ukrainian startups can access Horizon Europe projects, about grants from the European Innovation Council, and ways to integrate into the European innovation ecosystem.

In addition, the following topics were covered for young entrepreneurs: the Seeds of Bravery project; the technological path of a startup – from finding the right market problem and audience, creating an MVP, achieving product-market fit and attracting investment; entrepreneurial skills – adaptability, financial literacy, networking and mentoring – crucial for startup development; identifying target groups and testing ideas, analysing customer behaviour, testing hypotheses and creating a strong market presence.

The experts spoke in detail about the conditions of participation in the EIT Jumpstarter programme and provided detailed instructions on how to successfully submit the projects to the programme. The speakers also shared their knowledge and held group discussions on how to turn an idea into a scale-up business capable of operating in European markets. Participants received tools, ideas and knowledge on how to turn their startup ideas into actual businesses.

In general, the event is organised for young innovators and researchers with advanced scientific developments – beginning entrepreneurs, start-ups, leading experts and mentors. The aim is to provide practical knowledge for business development from idea to successful implementation and to introduce the EIT Jumpstarter programme.

In addition, we would like to inform you that the next workshop will be held on 29 March with the participation of Nataliia Didenko, Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
