On March 13, experts from Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine took part in a working meeting with representatives of the Digital, Industry and Space Programme Committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe.

The participants raised many important issues in the course of their work and shared their vision of how to address them. They also expressed their views on ways to effectively promote Ukraine’s interests in the international area.

The Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine emphasized the need for close cooperation of all participants within the Committee and with the representatives of the Office responsible for this area to build effective cooperation and prompt exchange of information. He also noted that all actions within the Committee should be coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Events of this format are held with members of all Programme Committees. The purpose is to discuss issues related to the development of further cooperation, establish communication with all parties, and provide assistance and advice to representatives in preparing their work.

On March 12, a regular working meeting was held with representatives of the Programme Committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. On March 6, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, held an Information Day for Scientists, Researchers and Innovators in the Healthcare Field. Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine continues to hold working meetings with representatives of the Programme Committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. On March 5, the Office’s experts held an online meeting with members of the European Research Council Committee.

Igor Taranov, the Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, who is also responsible for the European Research Council Programme component within the Pillar I Excellent Science, noted that the purpose of such events is to establish uninterrupted communication between all participants in the process. He also reminded that soon the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will nominate National Contact Points which will work closely with representatives of the Programme Committees and the Office team.

In addition, the Head of the Office emphasised that it is necessary to develop a common state position, agreed with the MoESU, to represent Ukraine at international events organised by the European Commission.

The participants shared their previous knowledge of the process and expressed their vision of improving the activities and establishing effective work.
