On July 16, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) together with the National Research Foundation of Ukraine held an online event dedicated to the best research and development funding practices. Employees of the department Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in the joint event. The workshop was organized to expand the boundaries of cooperation, exchange of experience and knowledge in order to improve activities in the area of grant support for scientists, researchers and innovators of both countries. On July 9, a meeting of the committee of the EU’s Creative Europe Programme took place in Brussels. During the meeting, it was announced that Ukraine would receive an additional targeted €5 million in 2025 as part of a special call “Support to Ukrainian displaced people and the Ukrainian Cultural and Creative Sectors”. The EIT Community New European Bauhaus (NEB) invites applicants to submit proposals for funding through its community-focused Connect NEB Call for Proposals, which focuses on citizen-generated solutions to the challenges facing cities, peri-urban and rural areas. The overall purpose of the call is to welcome solutions and initiatives that respond to challenges identified by the local community and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between people. On July 3, representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in a webinar Nature-based Solutions: Devising actions to achieve and far-reaching transformational adaptation. The online event was devoted to nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation with a focus on identifying the root causes of climate problems, including different typologies and implementation on the ground, financing mechanisms, as well as possible replication and scaling of such solutions.
