On June 20, a representative of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Internationalisation of Higher Education of Ukraine in Global Progress”. The event was held within the framework of the XXI International Scientific Conference “Olvian Forum – 2024: Strategies of the Black Sea Region Countries in the Geopolitical Space”, which was held on 20-23 June 2024 at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University in Mykolaiv. The final day of the training and information event “Grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools within Horizon Europe”, June 21, was also intense. The Uzhhorod National University is hosting a training and information event “Grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and support tools within Horizon Europe”. The second day, June 20, was very informative. Representatives of UzhNU and other higher education institutions, scientific institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs, etc. learned about the specifics of financial support from both the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the European Union, in particular the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe.
The event was opened by the Rector of Uzhhorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka and the Executive Director of the NRFU Olga Polotska. The head of the National Foundation also made a presentation on the institutional leadership of the NRFU during the war.
Another very strong speakers were Nadezhda Boyko, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Science Development, Advisor to the Rector of UzhNU on Innovative Development, Head of the Department of Medical and Biological Disciplines, who is also a member of the Scientific Council of the NRFU, Tetiana Beregova, Head of the Grant Support Department, NRFU, Igor Taranov, Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine”, NRFU, leading officers of the Office Nadiia Naumova, Maksym Kolisnyk, Oleksandr Moiseiev, Olga Palekha.
The practical part of the event was conducted by Natalia Didenko, Deputy Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU. The specialist performed a master class over the Funding and Tenders Portal.
The Q&A session was very intense. The attendees asked many questions regarding participation in Horizon Europe, to which the Office’s experts provided comprehensive answers.
The team of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine continues to raise public awareness of grant opportunities for Ukrainian scientists, researchers and innovators. On June 19-21, the training and information event “Grant opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine” and support tools within Horizon Europe ” is taking place in Uzhhorod at the Uzhhorod National University. On June 14, the Agency of European Innovation and Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU held a joint online event dedicated to the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe. The practice-oriented event “Supporting the participation of Ukrainian organizations in Horizon Europe calls with a focus on Pillar II “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” was organized to raise awareness of all stakeholders. On June 14, the Head of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in the MSCA4Ukraine relaunch webinar and information day. This project is extremely important for Ukrainian scientists and innovators, as it provides support to those who find themselves in difficult circumstances and have been forced to leave due to the ongoing war in the country. Young Scientists’ Week continues in Georgia. Representatives of Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU joined the first day, June 13, which was dedicated to the Horizon Europe Framework Programme. The event became a platform for developing cooperation, improving application writing skills, and expanding participation in future projects of the Horizon Europe, thereby strengthening the position of not only Georgia but also other countries participating in the Programme in the European research and innovation area. On June 12-13, experts from Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, NRFU took part in an information event organized by the European Union, the New Security Research Database (SeReMa).
